What Constitutes a Plumbing Emergency?

question-markA broken-down air conditioning system can definitely leave you sweating over the course of a very uncomfortable night. However, it is not really going to put your property at risk. A plumbing emergency can do just that, though. Are you unsure what we mean by a plumbing “emergency”? We’ll take a look at a few of the more common ones that we see around here in this post.

If you suspect that you have a plumbing emergency in Tampa, FL, don’t hesitate to give us a call. Your satisfaction with our services is our top priority, and that means dealing with your plumbing emergency in a timely manner. Remember, there is no way in which to eliminate entirely the risk of plumbing emergencies. What we can do, though, is ensure that your issue is resolved as soon as possible.

  • Leaking water heater – In certain situations, a leaking water heater is something that can be repaired. There may be a bad connection, for instance, or maybe a supply or return line is corroded and needs replacing. If it is your tank that is leaking, though, then the water heater is going to have to be replaced. There is no fixing a leaking hot water tank. You need hot water for a multitude of tasks around your home, so this is definitely an emergency.
  • No hot water – If your water heater is not leaking, but you have no hot water, then the thermostats for the water heater may need to be rebuilt. It is also possible that the electrical elements in an electric water heater are broken. In such instances, you may actually need the services of an electrician to get everything squared away. We can certainly diagnose the problem successfully and accurately, however, so that you know precisely what it is that you are dealing with.
  • Whole house backed-up – Are your drains not working at all? Not only is this a serious inconvenience, but a whole house back-up in your drain and sewer system could also result in a very serious and unhygienic environment in your home and around your property. There are a lot of reasons why your system may back up, so it is important that you have trained professionals diagnose the problem.
  • Leaking pipes – Leaking pipes are, as you can imagine, among the most common of all problems with residential plumbing systems that we come across. Just because they are so common, though, does not mean that they are not very serious. Not all leaking pipes will necessarily constitute an emergency. However, if your pipes are leaking in your walls or beneath the slab that your home sits upon, then you have a serious problem on hand, certainly emergency level status.

The long and short of it is that you need to know that your plumbing services are handled professionally and promptly, emergency or not. You can count on that when you schedule your plumbing services with the pros on our team.
